Faith
FAITH is not a matter of “what do I believe?”
It’s a matter of “Who do I trust?”
Has anyone ever asked you, “What do you believe?” We often talk about faith as a matter of belief.
Do you believe that God created the world? Do you believe that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour? Do
you believe that the Bible is the Word of God? Maybe many of us think that, if we believe the right
things, that means we have faith.
The problem is, many of us don’t know what to believe these days. The world is changing faster
than we could ever have imagined. New information comes at us every day from all angles –
friends, family, TV, social media. We’re constantly asking ourselves, “Do I believe this?”
The fact is that, faith was never supposed to be about what you believe. Sure, creeds and
confessional statements are helpful, but at the end of the day, faith is not about whether or not
you agree with this, that, or the other thing. Faith is about relationship.
Faith is about trusting in someone who will never let us down. Placing our trust in someone
whose love for us is unconditional and unwavering.
As a community of faith, Spirit of Life Ministry is learning to trust in God, whose love for us is so
boundless that God became a human being, so that through the life, death, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ, the whole world might experience the life-giving love of God.
